FIVE NEW GAMES HEADING TO SEGA SATURN NET LINK ALONG WITH UPDATED INTERNET BROWSER REDWOOD CITY, Calif. -- (May 2, 1997) -- Sega of America today announced an all-star line up of games soon to be released for Sega Saturn -- all Net Link enabled. In conjunction with the release of the new games starting in June, Sega will also introduce an updated Internet browser for Net Link, the only Internet-ready next generation video game console peripheral. New Games The new Net Link game line-up features the best from the arcade, PC and console. The games coming from Sega for Net Link are: June 1997 Sega Rally Championship Straight from the arcade: The ultimate head-to-head racing duel. Virtual On True arcade action: Massive Cyber Troopers battle it out in one-on-one combat. August 1997 Duke Nukem 3D The number one PC game: An action-packed, blood-filled 3D shooter. September 1997 Saturn Bomberman Console classic: The number one multiplayer game of all time comes to NetLink. October 1997 Daytona USA CCE Arcade excitement: High octane auto racing at its best. Look for special pricing options on many of these games. Game Lobbies Each game features its own custom Net Link lobby where gamers from around the world can meet, chat, taunt opponents and set up competitions. The Net Link game lobbies also feature an exclusive guest book that allows gamers to search for other players by location, game, skill level, etc. Updated Internet Browser Along with the exciting new games, Sega will also be unveiling an updated downloadable Internet browser in June (beta available in April). The new browser will be HTML 2.0 compatible, with full frame support and IRC chat capabilities. It will also have an improved keyboard interface with gamepad functionality (i.e. cursor movement). Background Net Link was first introduced to the public in 1996. It is the only Internet-ready next generation video game console peripheral. Net Link allows for networked gameplay and full Internet access, including World Wide Web searches, chat, e-mail and a variety of other online services. Paired with a Sega Saturn, Net Link is the lowest price Internet access device available today at a combined cost of under $400.
