General comparisons
The Master System logo sequence is not animated - it just flashes onto the screen. It is also silent.
If no physical media is detected, the boot ROM displays an error screen with a blinking question mark instead of the instructions screen. The Snail Maze game cannot be played yet.
The same screen is also used for software errors. The version number is displayed underneath the copyright string rather than the top-right corner.
