Sega Platon (セガプラトン) is an app developed and published by Sega for Android and iOS devices. It was designed to be "linked" to IC cards, a well-established alternative form of currency for playing arcade games in Japan, keeping track of the user's history and allowing them to win special merchandise or discounts for achieving certain goals.
It was tested in a select few game centers in March 2019, before seeing a nationwide release later in the year.
The system was discontinued after Sega sold its amusement location business to Genda in 2022.
