Shingo Yasumaru (真吾安丸) joined Sega sometime during the early 1990s. Much of his work was completed under Sega AM5 and its successors.

Building on earlier work with the 8-seater 4-axis AS-1 simulator by AM5, Yasumaru used the same base for redesigned virtual reality-capable pods in VR-1.[1] Following this, he engineered new 6-axis bases for two riders, beginning with Sega Rally Special Stage.[2]

Yasumaru's most active period began with Wild River, which saw him retool the 6-axis design to support 12 or 8 riders. Following the success of Wild River, he was part of a new division split off from AM5, Sega Adventure Company,[3] to specifically create the "Wild" series with Wild Jungle and Wild Wing.[1]

Patents for unreleased attractions credited to his name and Sega suggest Yasumaru was still working under a division (likely Family Entertainment) into the late 2000s.[4]
