Atlus
From Sega Retro
How should the games released after SEGA acquired the company be listed? A lot of their games are multiplatform, so listing them by platform might not be the best way. -TimmiT 13:26 30 June 2015 (CET)
- subheading? - idk
- I'd still arrange by platform. There'll be a lot of duplication but it makes things a bit clearer. -Black Squirrel (talk) 10:18, 30 June 2015 (CDT)
What is the Cutoff Date?
We know Sega bought them in 2013, but do we have an exact date? And beyond, when do we actually start listing Atlus titles. Titles came out from Atlus during 2013 after the buyout that I doubt Sega had anything to do with but I'm sure we're listing those anyway.
I'm about to make some pages on Atlus stuff so a cutoff date would be nice. Right now the page just "Summer 2013", however something like Etrian Odyssey IV came out in the EU in August of 2013, with AU and KR versions coming out in September 2013, so i'm not sure what to do with those. - Most (if not all) of the relevant ones actually credit Sega on the back of the box (or in the game). A quick search suggests the actual takeover date was April 1st, but it was a few months until Sega references started turning up. Alternatively you can use the "new" Atlus logo as a guide, because I don't think it was in use much prior to the Sega takeover. -Black Squirrel (talk) 11:12, 3 February 2017 (CST)
- So after looking at this (http://www.gamasutra.com/view/news/200476/Sega_confirms_that_it_has_taken_over_Atlus_parent_company.php) it seems that Sega announced that they bought Atlus on the 18th of September in 2013. It also says that Sega wanted the deal to be done by November 1st. The Korean version of Etrian Odyssey IV released on September 30th, 2013, after Sega had announced that they bought Atlus, so do you believe this qualifies it for a page on Sega Retro or are we going with the November 1st date, just one day later, and not giving a page to the game? - Well I suppose at the end of the day, this wiki is about things that Sega has done. I can't imagine Sega had anything to do with Etrian Odyssey IV's release in any region, so it's probably out of scope. -Black Squirrel (talk) 14:40, 8 February 2017 (CST)
