Safari Hunt

From Sega Retro

Do we have proof this was released in Japan? It was released in South Korea with similar packaging... but the Japanese were never given Light Phasers so I can't see why they'd be given this. -Black Squirrel 14:22, 6 April 2012 (CDT)

Should this even have it's own page? It kind of messes up lists and stuff which consider this an actual release.Pirate Dragon (talk) 17:45, 13 March 2020 (EDT)
Yes it should, although I don't really have a good answer about how releases should be handled. I'd probably just list the console releases that included the game. - Hivebrain (talk) 18:08, 13 March 2020 (EDT)
So we should probably also have separate ones for Marksman Shooting and Trap Shooting. How far do we take it though? Have individual pages for every game in 20 em 1? Then we have Action 52 on Mega Drive. Maybe it would just be better to have subpages off of the main compilation's page.Pirate Dragon (talk) 20:52, 13 March 2020 (EDT)
Safari Hunt is the only one to be released "on its own". We also have a page for Snail Maze following the same rationale. Games which only appear on multicarts don't need their own pages unless there's a really good reason. - Hivebrain (talk) 22:43, 13 March 2020 (EDT)
Whilst Snail Maze was released "on it's own" in early bioses, Safari Hunt never was. It's only appearance on a bios was on v2.4, which had the Hang On & Safari Hunt rom built in.Pirate Dragon (talk) 10:09, 15 March 2020 (EDT)
I'd say it needs its own page, as the alternative would be to duplicate gameplay information between Hang On & Safari Hunt and Marksman Shooting / Trap Shooting / Safari Hunt.
It's not clean, but there's only a couple of one-offs like this, so I think we can adapt. -Black Squirrel (talk) 12:32, 15 March 2020 (EDT)
In that case, we shouldn't be treating it as its own game. There's probably enough content for a separate page though, so maybe we need a Template:MinigameBob? - Hivebrain (talk) 14:02, 15 March 2020 (EDT)
