Dragon: The Bruce Lee Story is a Sega Master System and Sega Game Gear platform game based on the 1993 Dragon: The Bruce Lee Story film.
Contents
Story
The game follows the events of the film, a semi-fictionalized account of the life of renowned martial artist and actor Bruce Lee.
Gameplay
Gameplay combines elements of a platforming game and a beat-'em-up. Bruce moves through each level and encounters enemies to fight. Sometimes the screen locks in place until Bruce has dispatched all of the foes. Each level is divided into three parts, with a boss fight at the end.
Bruce with and . He crouches with and jumps with . He can jump to a higher platform (even if it is higher than his normal jump height) with + or to a lower platform with +. He can perform a number of attacks by holding and then pressing another button: holding or toward the enemy does a quick punch, holding or away from the enemy does a spinning punch that knocks the enemy away, pressing does a standing kick, pressing does a crouching kick, holding or away from the enemy does a roundhouse kick, and pressing leaps forward with a flying kick. Some moves can be linked together in combos (which awards bonus points at the end of the level). Bruce can interact with objects in some levels by hitting them, such as oil drums or large ice blocks. Enemies can also be defeated by knocking them into hazards (such as spikes or fire pits).
Bruce has a health bar, and he loses health when he is attacked by enemies. He loses a life when he loses all of his health, but he revives in place if he has extra lives remaining. The game ends if he loses all of his lives and cannot be continued. There are three difficulty levels (Easy, Medium, and Hard), and the player can choose the number of starting lives (3, 4, or 5).

History
Release
Despite being clearly labeled as a 1-2 player game on its packaging, the European Game Gear version of Dragon also erroneously claims compatibility with Hudson Soft's Super Multitap (a Super Famicom accessory), seemingly published by accident on the wrong system's box.[1][8]
