Hardlight is a Sega-owned studio formed in 2012. It is based in the United Kingdom, and primarily develops handheld games for smartphones, tablets and other smaller markets, as well as offering support for other R&D departments. It is staffed by former members of Sega Europe, Codemasters and Sega Racing Studio.
Hardlight claims to be the "third" UK-based development studio to be owned by Sega, The Creative Assembly and Sports Interactive likely counting as the first and second.
