Hisato Fukumoto
From Sega Retro
Fukumoto is linked to 7LY Big King on MobyGames. I don't know if there's a source for it, but I know that in Legend of Joe Musashi: Shinobi Music Collection, Ryo Kudou says that senior artist F本 (F-moto) handled background art for The GG Shinobi, which does fit 7LY Big King. I messaged him about that on Facebook a while back, but he didn't respond.
However, Fukumoto graduated university in 1985, and since a lot of developers get employed the same year they graduate, there's a couple 80's aliases that might be Fukumoto.
- Slap Shooter - FUK
- Transformer - FKU
- Choplifter (Master System version) - Funny Fuku
- Secret Command - Sunshine Hisa
- Space Harrier (Master System version) - Fuuuuuk (there is a H.F in the high score table)
- OutRun (Master System version) - H.F
- Opa Opa - FKK?
- Space Harrier 3D - Woahmider (there is a FUK in the high score table)
- Dragon Crystal - Fudo (this one feels like more of a stretch so close to 7LY Big King, especially as Fuk-related aliases had dwindled.)
- G-LOC (Game Gear version) - Hfhfhf
- Golden Axe Warrior - Aiou_Tmkf (scrambled vowels from Hisatou, consonants from Fukumoto spelled in reverse)
He might also be Stresteles, who debuted in Space Harrier II but disappeared just before 7LY Big King appeared. The high scores in Space Harrier II contain the name F.K, but there's a different set of names seen in the manual's screenshot of the name entry, with KOU, FUK. ..., YAM, M.T and ARA, plus one omitted because there's been a blank name registered after the preset. The final name entry just replaces the 2nd letter of each name with a period. Nicolaas Hamman (talk) 08:10, 21 June 2023 (GMT+2)
