History of Sega in Colombia


Official Sega distributor(s): Synergex (2007-2012), Latam Games (2012-present)

In the 70s Colombia was one of the countries where Sega imported its game machines.^[1]

In the early 90s official distributor came to release Sega products in the region. The most popular of Sega's consoles was Sega Genesis released here in 1992^[2], but it lost with Super Nintendo.^[3] In 2001, Dreamcast was released in Colombia.^[4]

In 2007, Synergex became a representative of Sega^[5]^[6] and distributed titles until 2012. From late 2000s, Sega games are distributed locally by two distributors - Latam Games and NC Games^[7]^[8].
