iOS, previously iPhone OS, is the operating system which powers handheld devices produced by Apple - the iPod, iPhone and iPad series. It is derived from Mac OS X, the operating system behind the Macintosh series of computers.

iOS competes primarily with the Android operating system for handheld dominance. Video games are offered via Apple's App Store, including some published by Sega.
