Just leaving a note here... when ''Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog'' aired for the first time in Portugal (I watched it every Sunday) it was the original version in English and subtitled in Portuguese... it was the common way at the time... not  only with ''Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog'' but also with other animated television series such as ''The Super Mario Bros. Super Show'', ''Taz-Mania'', ''Hammerman'' starring rapper MC Hammer which was one of my favourites, ''Disney's Adventures of the Gummi Bears'' which I loved, ''DuckTales'' , ''Danger Mouse'', ''Lonney Tunes'', ''Tiny Tunes'', ''Yogi Bear'', ''The Flintstones'', ''The Jetsons'', etc. ... however there were a few exceptions such as ''The Berenstain Bears'', ''Care Bears'', ''Count Duckula'', ''Alvin and the Chipmunks'' and a few more which I can't remember that were all dubbed in Portuguese (probably because hiring actors was more expensive than using subtitles)... has you can see in those  Portuguese  ''Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog'' VHS covers that we have you can see that two of them have subtitles and the other two are dubbed... well RTP never dubbed any episode of ''Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog''... on video rental shops it wasn't uncommon to find Astérix VHS cassetes dubbed in Brazilian Portuguese ... in fact I can't even remember watching a Astérix movie in English with Portuguese subtitles... Prisvideo and other similar companies used to do it all the time with animated films (Disney videos too)... I can't check the ''Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog'' VHS cassettes because I don't have them, but I suspect that the two cassettes dubbed in Portuguese are in fact dubbed in Brazilian Portuguese... yep...
