Akai Koudan Zillion (赤い光弾ジリオン) is a 31-episode Japanese animated television series that ran for eight months during 1987 on Nippon TV.

While not created or animated by Sega, the company was involved in its production, using it as a vehicle to sell a laser tag game, a tie-in Sega Master System game (also called Zillion) and a line of toys. The "Zillion" weapons which are used extensively in the series are modelled after the Master System's Light Phaser peripheral, and de facto Sega mascot Opa-Opa serves as a main character in the show.

The show itself was handled by a division of Tatsunoko Production headed by Mitsuhisa Ishikawa. While the anime was not particularly successful in Japan, Ishikawa wanted to keep as much of the team behind Akai Koudan Zillion together as possible, setting up, alongside Zillion character designer Takayuki Goto, an internal group within Tatsunoko Production known as IG Tatsunoko. This would later break away from its parent company and become Production I.G.
