Vice: Project Doom, known as Gun-Dec (ガンデック) in Japan, is an action game developed by Aicom and originally published by Sammy for the Nintendo Entertainment System in 1991.

After 2004, Sega acquired the rights of Sammy's domestic IPs, including Vice: Project Doom. The game never received any re-release since its debut on NES until it arrived in August 2019 (July 2020 for Japan plus Hong Kong) on the Nintendo Entertainment System - Nintendo Switch Online app for Nintendo Switch published by Nintendo through updates. This re-release also marks the first release of the game in Europe and other areas where the Nintendo Switch Online service is supported.

    Story

There exists a group of undercover detectives who dare stand up to the evil in the world... They are known as Vice. Officer Quinn Hart, a member of Vice, is on the case and after the truth. High-speed car chases, action-packed battles employing three types of weapons, and a mode with three 3D rail-shooting stages all brings this cyberpunk world to life. And beyond even that, animations between stages help immerse the player in the story!

    History

    Legacy

Vice: Project Doom was featured in GameCenter CX, making its first public appearance in media with a copyright from Sega.

The Japanese re-release of Gun-Dec on Nintendo Switch Online omits the original box art and uses the title screen in the menu instead, due to Hart's appearance being similar to John McClane (portrayed by Bruce Willis) from the Die Hard movie.
