The Card Reader (カードリーダー) is an accessory created by Sega that allows Nintendo DS users to scan special cards.

The device plugs into the Game Boy Advance slot of original DS and DS Lite systems, meaning it is incompatible with the newer Nintendo DSi range or the Nintendo 3DS. A similar (and more well known) concept was previously explored by Nintendo with its e-Reader system for the Game Boy Advance in 2001, but while the two devices are designed for the same cartridge port, the two systems are incompatible.

Only three games were developed to make use of the accessory, all of which were published by Sega exclusively in Japan. The Card Reader was only bundled with these games and not sold separately.
