Super Break-Open (スーパーブレイクオープン) is a discrete logic arcade game released by Sega in the late 1979 as a successor to Break-Open.

Gameplay

Press the "serve" button to play the game. Hit the ball moving in a zig-zag pattern. When the ball strikes an orange block, it returns to normal (straight line). There are obstacles in the third row (yellow), fifth row (orange), seventh row (red) of blocks. When the ball hits these, the "おじゃま虫" ("Ojamamushi" - bothering insect) will appear. When the ball enters inside the block, the block size is halved. Blocks have the following point values:

  • Blue: 1 point
  • Yellow: 3 points
  • Orange: 5 points
  • Red: 7 points

Achieving a score of 400 results in a free game, though this can be adjusted on the machine.

Switches on the cab can change the game between standard type, zig-zag and ojamamushi modes.
