Cybersound was a combination MIDI instrument set and software driver used by many Saturn games such as NiGHTs, Dragon Force, and Sakura Taisen. It was also used on other platforms such as the PC and Macintosh. Since the samples are contained within the software itself for subsequent digital playback, you could also liken the mechanics to that of a Amiga music module or a software-driven wavetable like those currently being offered by Yamaha.
