Apparently this had a simultaneous released with the US version of Seaman in August 2000 - a full year after the original Japanese release.
Which makes me think US Seaman is actually Seaman 2001 in disguise. Except with Leonard Nimoy. And maybe other things.

- Looking at the press release[1] it explains the differences. Most are probably specific to Japanese language, but these should be applicable to the US release;
