The Winner 500 is a third-party three button control pad for the Sega Mega Drive. It is a fairly standard unofficial controller with simple turbo features.
The Winner 500 is a relatively common controller, particularly in North America, although boxed copies are far trickier to find. Winner 500s are believed to have been used at some point by Blockbuster video stores, who may have attached their own branding to the product.
