The tentatively titled Tectoy Rating System was a video game content rating system put in place by Sega's Brazillian distributor, Tectoy for rating games in the early 1990s. Similar to Sega of America's Videogame Rating Council or Sega of Japan's SEGA Rating, the Tectoy Rating System was only applied to games distributed by Sega/Tectoy in Brazil. It also appeared on several Portuguese covers.
The system was phased out by the end of the 1990s, inevitably replaced by the Departamento de Justiça, Classificação, Títulos e Qualificação ratings. DJCTQ is still in use today, and covers all platforms in that region.
At the time of writing, it is unknown exactly how the rating system worked, or what its official name was. Below is an educated guess.
