The Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver 2 is a direct sequel to The Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver and was released for the PlayStation 2 in 2001.

In its early days (late 1999), Soul Reaver 2 was marked out to be an original PlayStation and Sega Dreamcast release that would arrive sometime in autumn 2000, however, following a successful proof-of-concept PlayStation 2 demo for E3 2000, the game was completely re-worked for Sony's platform as an exclusive title.

Nevertheless, screenshots of the Dreamcast version were released to the pubilc, and the Dreamcast version (as well as its PlayStation counterpart) was advertised in North America. Like its PlayStation 2 counterpart, the Dreamcast version was set to give Raziel three times as many polygons while maintaining 60FPS gameplay[2].
