This teeny-tiny article needs some work. You can help us by expanding it.

Bally Manufacturing was a division of Lion Manufacturing, established in 1932 to construct pinball machines. Over the next few decades it would expand into manufacturing slot machines and gambling equipment, before becoming independent in 1963. In 1969 it acquired Midway Manufacturing.

While the name would rename relevant in the video game and pinball industries over the decades that followed (primarily due to licensing), this original Bally company would move into maintaining casinos and other venues, before being purchased by Hilton Hotels in 1995. Midway (which for a while traded as "Bally Midway") became the group's representation in the pinball and video game markets during the 1970s and 80s. Sega had a license to distribute Bally's pinball tables in Japan during the 1960s and 70s.
