Title screen
Mode select
The Japanese version opens by prompting the player to choose from two modes, Arcade Mode and Special Mode. The Special Mode adds desperation moves and changes how some moves are performed. The US version does not include the Arcade Mode and defaults to the Special Mode.
Main menu
The Japanese version has a "Demo Play" menu item, which exits the menu and returns to the opening logos and demo.
Options
The Japanese version has additional options.
Character select
The US version adds the romanization for the name of the selected character.
2P Battle
The Japanese and US versions use different romanizations for the character names.
Gameplay
The Japanese version uses the Chinese names of the fighters. The US version uses their romanized names.
