Sega of America v. Fox Interactive, et al., 4:03-CV-05468 (N.D. Cal 2003), is a 2003 case in which Sega of America sued Fox Interactive, claiming that their Simpsons: Road Rage game was too similar to Sega's previous Crazy Taxi series.[1]
History
In December 2003, Sega of America sued Fox Interactive, claiming that their Simpsons: Road Rage game was too similar to Sega's previous Crazy Taxi series.[1]
Results
Soon after the case was filed, the two parties quickly reached a private settlement in early 2004 for undisclosed terms. Patent Arcade speculates that Fox likely "settled [for] cheap", as a number of industry analysts had expressed concern that Sega's considerably-broad claim would actually be enforceable.[1]
