Calcune (かるきゅ~ん) is an unreleased arcade game made by Yuvo for the Arcades. It is a puzzle game where characters represented by horoscope signs clash against each other through basic number adding skills from 1 up to 6, similar to Palamedes. Sending combo chains inflicts garbage tiles towards your opponent and vice-versa, similar to Puyo Puyo. Calcune was shown in AOU Show 1996, but failed to gain attention during the event.
Part of the game's hardware was licensed by Sega, as it features two Sega 315-5660-02 ASICs soldered into the game's printed circuit board. The 315-5660-02 is a revision of the 315-5660, an ASIC manufactured by Sega and Yamaha that is available on Model 2 Mega Drives and most Sega Mega Drive derivative hardware made after 1993. According to the driver notes on MAME's source code, the text VDP LICENSE FROM SEGA, MANUFACTURED BY ADO.
is also printed in the PCB[1].
