Alfred Chicken is a platform game developed by Twilight for the Amiga and several Nintendo consoles. An unannounced Sega Mega Drive version was slated to be published by Mindscape, however Twilight were unable to find another publisher after Mindscape backed out.[1]
The Mega Drive version was later discovered in 2016 by Piko Interactive, getting their hands on an unfinished binary from the original developer and intending to finish it up for a tentative 2017 release.[2] However, conflicting rights with the ownership of the Alfred Chicken character have ultimately prevented this to happen as of the present date.[3] A previous game by Twilight also intended for the Sega Mega Drive, Frog Dude, was shelved in favour of this game.
In December 2024 a prototype ROM from an anonymous donor was released on the Internet Archive by Codebound.[1]
