Johnny Gioeli v. Sega of America, Inc., 24CV2276 BAS MMP,[1] is an ongoing case in which American singer Johnny Gioeli accused Sega (through Sega of America) of failing to pay him enough royalties for usage of his Sonic Adventure 2 song "Live & Learn" in numerous audiovisual works and live events following the game's release. He contends that Sega misunderstood exactly what rights the company had when republishing the song over the last 25 years, and is seeking compensation in the magnitude of $1,000,000.[2]
