Post-Sega consoles

From Sega Retro

We have pages for non-Sega consoles, like the Xbox and the GameCube and whatever - they've been here since the start but I've grown sceptical about whether we need them here at Sega Retro. Or at least, in their current state.

For example, we are never going to have an amazing Xbox 360 page. It's seven years of history, and Wikipedia will always have an edge because it is maintained by people who care. From a Sega perspective, all that matters is that the console runs games - the history of the various models and the prices involved and the accessories and the promotions and the interfaces and whatever... just aren't worth covering in my view. It's too much effort to maintain this stuff - there's still some plans from publishers to release PlayStation 2 games in 2013, a full thirteen years after that console debuted in Japan - we can't possibly cover a system like that in great detail.

I suggest just having a history of Sega's efforts with these systems, i.e. axe all the technical details and model history and sales and whatever. These are tasks for "NINTENDO RETRO" or "SONY RETRO" or whatever - not us -Black Squirrel 10:55, 27 December 2012 (CST)
