Lock-On
From Sega Retro
Lock-On is a product developed by Sega, which saw some success in the early 1990s. It is essentially a simple laser tag game - each player is equipped with a sensor (to be strapped to the head) and an infra-red light gun - when hit, a number decreases and the player who sustains the least "damage", wins.
Lock-On originally debuted in 1992 and exists in two forms; regular Lock-On, and an update known (in Japan at least) as "Lock-On 2", released in 1997. The games are virtually identical (and are compatble with each other (?)), however Lock-On 2 uses smaller guns and headsets, presumably to cut costs (and was available in packs of two). In Japan, Lock-On sets are grey/black as opposed to the standard blue used everywhere else. In North America and Europe, both sets were distributed by Bandai.
