Thanks for helping, but the 670-xxxxxx numbers aren't codes for games - they're the product codes for the covers for games... if that makes sense.
Every part of a release has an unique number, be it the box, manual, cartridge shell and even the internal PCB - the four digit numbers you were replacing describes the package as a whole -Black Squirrel (talk) 06:23, 19 February 2015 (CST)
Hi, Black Squirrel.
Hm. I wanted to contribute, since i have over 1100 MD games in my collection.
I personally differentiate different region variant via these 670-*** numbers among my collection.
For example Batman Returns, i have EU, UK + AU and the Cover IDs are the ones I consider to be the indicators.
Which numbers are relevant to you guys then? So I can contribute...
- All numbers are relevant, as long as they're describing the right things. =P
- IIRC most of the missing product codes for games are Australian versions, which are usually just the same as their European counterparts. There was a list that was automatically generated, but software bugs mean I can't show it right now.
- At some point we'll likely start documenting part numbers. The problem is that it's a massive job and I'm not entirely sure how best to even begin, since the list would cover almost everything Sega made for two decades or more (i.e. not just home console games). You're more than welcome to try and find a solution though. -Black Squirrel (talk) 07:43, 19 February 2015 (CST)
