Art Alive! (アートアライブ) is a Sega Mega Drive game released in 1991. It can be seen as a Sega alternative to Nintendo's Mario Paint on the SNES, though Art Alive! debuted before Nintendo's game.
With the start of the game, you are given a blank canvas, so to speak, and it's your job to fill it in. There are various tools you can use to do the job with. There's a pencil for drawing single lines and there's even a button for drawing a circle. It's similar to MS Paint in that you just press the button where you want the circle to start, then move the cursor over to where you want the circle to end. Now just press the button again to confirm this circle. The button cancels the circle, and deletes it from the screen.
In addition, several stamps (like those seen in Wacky Worlds) of various Sega characters like Sonic the Hedgehog can be placed and animated throughout the picture.
With the help of emulators or a VCR, images created in Art Alive! can be saved for later viewing.
