IBM PC version

Despite the box claiming the IBM PC version of World Championship Soccer is only compatible with EGA graphics cards, this is not strictly true. If the user has a VGA card, the game will still run in 16 colours (as there are no VGA-specific graphics in-game), but it will choose a slightly more appropriate palette from the 256 colours available in the standard.

While the difference would be subtle on many CRT displays of the time, it can allow users to see what is going on more clearly. It also allows teams to play in different colours - in EGA mode player 1 is always red and player 2 is always blue.
