Sega Open 93 was advertised as the first Slovenian championship in video games.Sponsored by Mladinska Knjiga and Elektronexport.
The preliminary stage was on December 11, 1993 and the final on December 18, 1993.The registration fee was 1000 SIT, if it was possible to register in the competition (by phone) until 4.12.1993 (On the day of the competition, the registration fee was double).
Rules
The rules of the initial stage:
1. Players compete in the first level of the Sonic game.
2. The competitor must collect as many points as possible within 30 seconds. Each ring is worth 100 points.
3. After 30 seconds, the player must stop the game himself, and the judge registers SCORE and the number of RINGS. Then the judge calculates the final result according to the key: points + rings • 100.
4. If the player does not stop after 30 seconds, the first second (31) will result in 1000 negative points, the second (32) 2,000 negative points, and the third (and then 33 or more seconds) means disqualification.
5. In the final of the first five players will be classified in points in each location.
The rules of the final competition:
1. Players move again in the Sonic game, but this time the goal is to pass through the first level in the shortest time. If the time of two players is the same, the total final result calculated by the game is taken into account. If these results are the same, players go to the next level.
2. These rules apply to the first and second rounds.
3. In the eighth final, the contestants will go to Lotus Turbo Challenge. In the quarterfinals the player who first passes through the first stage will be classified.
4. We have prepared tennis for the quarter-finals, which is played in two games.
5. Semi-finals and finals will be hockey. The semi-finals are played 3x for 5 minutes and the finals 3x for 10 minutes.
