Decap Attack
From Sega Retro
What should we do about Magical Hat no Buttobi Turbo! Daibouken? The only real differences as far as I can tell are graphics, sound, and music... (and it's pretty clear Old School didn't care) - Andlabs 00:29, 6 April 2011 (CDT)
- ..actually why did the article even exist on Sonic Retro? I'll probably just make an article for Magical Hat and rewrite this article from scratch, unless anyone has objections? - Andlabs 00:31, 6 April 2011 (CDT)
- My guess is because there were Decap Attack stories in Sonic the Comic... and they outlasted the Streets of Rage, Golden Axe, Shinobi stories etc. -Black Squirrel 05:12, 6 April 2011 (CDT)
Where should the comic-related content go?
There was a comic of Decap Attack. Scans can be seen [http://fryguy64.proboards27.com/index.cgi?board=thirdparty&action=display&thread=2220 here].

- I wouldn't know. For the first few years the comic devoted more time to non-Sonic stories than Sonic ones, but switched to a "mostly Sonic" format in the late 90s. Decap Attack was the exception - while other games comics were killed, Decap Attack kept getting the odd story every few months right up until the comic ended. There weren't any massively long Decap Attack stories or anything like that, but there were quite a few stories and they're spread out across the entire run of the comic.
- There are some already hosted online, but that only brings it to mid-1995. Torrents of the full set apparently exist... but you'd have to go through them all to find out which ones had Decap Attack comics in them.
- And while you're at it, because STC got ahold of information from Sega themselves, there'll be plenty of obscure stuff and prototype screenshots as well as reviews that need documenting. A big job. -Black Squirrel 10:03, 6 April 2011 (CDT)
Decapattack
Hey are we wrong calling it Decap Attack? I noticed the other day that the box art and title screens call it "Decapattack" - much like "Decapitate". I didn't realise it was a play on words until a few days ago, partly because I'm stupid, partly because Sonic the Comic didn't make the connection either (though it's not as bad as not noticing the "four" in Duke Nukem Forever for 13 years) -Black Squirrel 14:29, 25 August 2011 (CDT)
