A Classic Mac OS PC is a personal computer running Apple's Classic Mac OS operating system, formerly known as Mac OS, and simply Macintosh. The primary rival to the IBM PC architecture, it was released in January 1984. Although Classic Mac OS PCs generally received far less games than their IBM PC counterparts, a number of first and third-party Sega games have been published to Apple's original operating system.
In March 2001, Classic Mac OS was succeeded by its replacement, macOS.
