Compton's Interactive Encyclopedia is a piece of Sega Mega CD software which acts as an interactive encyclopedia. It was only released in North America.
At the time, it would have been one of the first interactive encyclopedias, sporting over 34,000, 5,000 pictures and 30 videos artices from the American Library Accociation. In comparison, at the time of writing the English Wikipedia has 3.8 million articles and Wikimedia Commons has over 12 million freely usable files, making Compton's Interactive Encyclopedia a bit redundant in the modern age.
