Monster Hunter or Monster Hunt[2] is an unreleased Sega Mega Drive light gun game developed and slated to be published by Sega. Announced as one of the first titles to utilize the company's first-party light gun - the Menacer - it was originally scheduled for a Christmas 1993 release date, but ultimately never materialized.

Monster Hunter is unrelated to the later Capcom series of the same name.

Gameplay

Monster Hunter would have seen the player shoot at various monsters, including dinosaurs and mutants, and was set to be a two player game (in which the second players uses a standard control pad.)

History

Monster Hunter was to be shipped on a 1MB cartridge. Only a single screenshot of the game has been found, despite plans by Sega of America to run expensive TV and print advertising campaigns.
