Sega the Best
From Sega Retro
So what do we do about Sammy games — Sega now considers all Sammy games first-party... In the case of this one should we just make an article for the rerelease? I'll hlave to go through and make a list of which games are marked as Sammy or not - Andlabs 10:19, 9 April 2012 (CDT)
- We need to come up with a general stance for games in which some versions aren't published (or developed) by Sega. Like for example, Destroy All Humans! - should I be hunting out the US/EU scans for complete-ness? It seems... odd... just to cover one specific release like that, and I can't imagine many people wanting a page which just deals with one part of a thing. Can we afford to go slightly off-topic here and there?
- Sammy's case depends on who owns what. There's a good chance that all of Sammy's video game IPs were transferred to Sega, and if so, they may all be Sega properties anyway. That does raise an important question mind you - if Sega were to buy out a big-ish company and take all of their assets, does that mean Sega Retro would need to cover the old back catelogue? We're sort-of lucky they've never tried to buy out a large game company before, though it's good to have contingency plans for if they decide to.
- I mean I suppose Puyo Puyo is one of the obvious ones. If you want the SNES version... you'll have to speak to Sega.... so do we actually cover the SNES verison? Is it useful when attempting to document a Sega-owned franchise?
- If we cover Compile/Compile Heart in it's entirety, would that include even obscure things like Satellaview variants of their releases or, say, that... eroge studio thing?--KiddoCabbusses 19:26, 9 April 2012 (CDT)
- Sammy's stuff might be managable. A good chunk of it is Atomiswave stuff. -Black Squirrel 14:35, 9 April 2012 (CDT)
