Ongeki (音擊 or オンゲキ), also spelled O.N.G.E.K.I., is an arcade rhythm game and is the third series that falls under the Performai or Gekichumai umbrella, alongside maimai and Chunithm. It is more character- and story-driven than the previous two and notably features many original songs sung by the cast of characters (or more accurately, their voice actors). The character is controlled with a lever, while tapping to the rhythm with 6 buttons, 3 on either side of the lever.
Players win cards in the game which can be printed out with the Card Maker. Printing cards makes it easier to organize your deck and increases your in-game card cap by 40. Some cards cannot be obtained in-game, instead being won through Gacha. Gacha cards can be printed out on the spot and increase your level cap by 40 regardless of if you print them out or not.
The launch of Ongeki was accompanied by the launch of O.N.G.E.K.I. NET, a service for viewing gameplay records, upcoming events, and allows you to organize and edit your card decks.
