Ocean Village cruises will finally be coming to an end this October after they announced 2 years ago that their cruise ships will be moving to join P&O Cruises Australia.

Ocean Village Cruises ran from 2003 and were well known for their motto ‘a cruise for people who don’t do cruises’. With their informal atmosphere and unfixed schedules the line offered a range of cruise holidays appealing to many people who assumed cruising was not for them. The company originally had two ships, ‘Ocean Village’ and ‘Ocean Village Two’, running in the Caribbean and Mediterranean. In 2009, one of the ships joined P&O Cruises Australia, whilst the second continued cruising in the Caribbean and Europe throughout the rest of 2009 and 2010.

Carnival Cruises who run Ocean Village along with P&O Cruises and Cunard Line have recognised the potential of the Australian market and feel that the two ships would be a greater asset to them if situated in there. Due to new ships for P&O Cruises and Cunard Line, Carnival are confident that they will not be losing out in the British market after both the Ocean Village ships have finally moved to Australia. Although they are dissimilar P&O will be benefitting from the new Azura and Cunard from the Queen Elizabeth.
