Beijing 2008 is the officially licensed game for the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing, China. It was developed by Eurocom and published by Sega for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and Windows PC. Eurocom also developed the game for the previous olympics, Athens 2004.

Gameplay

As is often the case in sports games, Beijing 2008 consists of numerous events which involve either button-mashing or carefully timed button presses, especially in the track and field events. There are however a few events which provide a bit of variety, such as table tennis and judo.

List of events:

  • Track: 100m, 200m, 400m, 800m, 1500m, 100m hurdles, 110m hurdles
  • Field: High jump, Pole vault, Long jump, Triple jump, Shot put, Discus throw, Hammer throw, Javelin throw
  • Aquatics: 100m freestyle swimming, 100m backstroke swimming, 100m butterfly swimming, 100m breaststroke swimming, 3m springboard diving, 10m platform diving
  • Gymnastics: Parallel bars, Vault, Rings, Floor exercise, Beam, Uneven bars
  • Shooting: Skeet shooting, 10m Air Pistol, 25m Rapid Fire Pistol
  • Other: Archery, Weightlifting, Cycling, Canoeing, Judo, Table tennis
