Mega Drive Fan contest

The contest winners listed in the game's credits.

The June 1993 issue of Mega Drive Fan announced a contest where the magazine invited its readers to design enemies and traps for the upcoming Vampire Killer[1], encouraging them to submit creative designs for possible inclusion in the final game. Two of the issue's pages were separate forms for enemies and traps, intended to be cut out, completed, and eventually mailed to Konami before a certain date - the enemy form featured a graph-paper background intended for pixel artwork[2], while the trap form featured four blank yonkoma-like panels intended to show the trap's various stages.[3]

The results were published the following September[1], with the winning submissions being awarded gold, silver, or bronze medals for their respective categories. Gold and silver-winning creators would have their creations featured in the final release, while those who won bronze would have their designs remain unused - regardless, all medal winners would receive a special thanks in the game's credits.[1]
