Heli-Shooter is a 1977[1] discrete logic 3D fighter pilot simulation game produced by Sega.
It is an evolution of Sega's earlier electro-mechanical combat flight simulator game Jet Rocket (1970), improving on it with the use of a CPU microprocessor and more sophisticated screen projection technology. Heli-Shooter features free-roaming movement across a colorful, realistic, three-dimensional landscape, making it the first example of a 3D open-world game.
Gameplay
Players sit in a helicopter's cockpit, using a control stick and right and left pedals to control their movement in the sky. The object of the game is to strike enemy targets (shown in red) with missiles. 500 points are awarded for striking enemy planes and 200 points for other targets.
