Pnickies (ぷにっきぃず) is a puzzle game developed by Compile and published by Capcom for its CP System Arcade board, released in June 8th, 1994, only in Japan.

In an unknown time, likely after Compile's bankruptcy, the rights of Pnickies turned to be co-owned between Capcom and Sega (as supposed to be D4 Enterprise instead), but this information did not became public until the worldwide release of Capcom Arcade 2nd Stadium, a compilation of several Arcade games from Capcom, of which Pnickies is sold as a DLC game. Sega's licensing role in this game is not fully understood (even Yosuke Okunari does not know much about it[8]). Some assumptions are either because the game has similar gameplay with Puyo Puyo or because of Sega Toys' Pnickies[9], a localization of the Squinkies toy series from Blip Toys (although for the latter, their localized name uses portions of katakana rather than a full hiragana title used in Pnickies).
