Acclaim Studios, Inc. was an American subsidiary of Acclaim Entertainment that existed during the mid-1990s. This division was used for motion capture, and was one of the first instances of a dedicated motion capture unit for video games.
Upon the closure of the arcade division, Acclaim Coin-Operated Entertainment, much of its resources and staff were merged into Acclaim Studios. Eventually Acclaim Studios would cease to exist as a separate entity.
The "Acclaim Studios" name was recycled some years later as prefix to several developers purchased by Acclaim; Acclaim Studios London (Probe Entertainment, Acclaim Studios Austin (Iguana Entertainment), Acclaim Studios Teesside (Iguana UK, formerly Optimus Software), Acclaim Studios Manchester, Acclaim Studios Salt Lake City (Sculptured Software) and Acclaim Studios Cheltenham.
