Bean Ball Benny is an unreleased Sega Genesis game set to be published by Nuvision Entertainment in late 1991/early 1992.

Little is known about this game. It was demonstrated at Summer CES 1991[2] and advertised during the year, but was cancelled presumably when Nuvision closed its doors. Its lifecycle is comparable to Nuvision's other Summer CES 1991-announced game, Swamp Thing - a prototype is known to exist but unlike Swamp Thing, is yet to be dumped.

History

Circumstantial evidence suggests that the game may have evolved into Guardian Angels Safety Patrol, an equally-unreleased Genesis title by Nuvision. Programmer Charlie Heath recalls that, at the time of its development, Bean Ball Benny lacked a license. As the game features a crime-fighting vigilante patrolling urban streets and subways,[3] it is speculated that it was reworked into Guardian Angels following the acquisition of a somewhat-recognizable license.
