Commtron Corporation was a video and electronics wholesaler[2] founded in 1975, in Des Moines, Iowa by former entrepreneur Jack Silverman. It was the first[3] company hired by Sega of America to distribute its hardware and software before being replaced in that role by Tonka in 1987.
The company merged[4] in June 1992[5] with Nashville-based, distributor of home entertainment products Ingram Entertainment Holdings Inc..
