Fireteam Rogue is an unreleased Sega Mega Drive action game developed by Accolade.

History

Though advertised with other Accolade products, the game was cancelled by the corporation's refreshed management in the mid-90s, likely as it had become unfeasible to release to a high standard in the expected time frame.

A Super Nintendo version was developed simultaneously, and two prototypes have since been leaked of that version. Both the Mega Drive and Super Nintendo copies of the game were originally set to be released in late 1994, but were pushed to February 1995, then March 1995 before being scrapped entirely. The game did appear at CES 1995, however, and the Mega Drive version was even given a suggested price tag of $59.95 USD.

As part of the game's promotion, Accolade commissioned the company Holograms West to create a hologram of the game's logo.[6] At the time, it was the largest freestanding, animating color hologram in the world (and the first to be constructed on a computer), with 200 frames of animation. The models were created by Viewpoint Data Labs, animated by Jeff Rianda, diagrammed by Betty Cunningham, and executed by John Canfield. A total of nine holograms were produced, with one making an appearance during the EGM Mall Tour.[7]
