higan is an open source multi-system emulator for Windows, FreeBSD, Linux and OS X, developed by byuu. higan is based upon byuu's older emulator bsnes, and originally only emulated Nintendo consoles. The final version of bsnes was v091, and was followed by higan v092 in 2012.[2] Other consoles were added in subsequent versions. Sega Mega Drive emulation was added in v101, and Master System and Game Gear emulation was added in v102.
