Story
The story in Last Battle has been translated to English, and the names have been changed to remove references to the Hokuto no Ken manga.
Subtitle
The subtitle "新世紀末救世主伝説" in Hokuto no Ken is translated to "Legend of the Final Hero" in Last Battle.
Title screen
Chapter 1
The chapter screens in Hokuto no Ken have the name of the chapter, but they only appear in the instruction manual in Last Battle.
Level 1 start
Kenshiro and Aarzak are colored slightly differently.
Blood
Enemies in Hokuto no Ken have their heads explode in a burst of blood when they die. This was removed from Last Battle. Note also that the enemies have been recolored.
Bask's Area / Hulk's Area
Bask in Hokuto no Ken closely resembles professional wrestler Hulk Hogan. He was renamed Hulk and recolored to have green skin (perhaps in reference to The Incredible Hulk) in Last Battle.
Hulk's recoloring changes his blood from red to yellow when he is defeated.
Geila's Area / Butcher's Area
Geila in Hokuto no Ken is renamed to Butcher and recolored to have green skin in Last Battle.
Geila's recoloring changes his blood from red to green when he is defeated.
